SCOTTSDALE, AZ – (Marketwire – May 13th, 2008) - Abby Bella Dance Studio will debut in Scottsdale with a special event on Friday, May 16th at 7:00 pm, designed to entertain and inspire. The studio will celebrate with new students, instructors and special guests. Eats and drinks will be provided by neighboring restaurants, Tango Grill, Marco’s Italian Bistro and Hana’s Cafe.
The party will feature fun and interactive dance demonstrations in belly dancing (by well-known dancer, Keren), salsa, then a hip hop finale performance by Arizona’s notorious dance troupe, Foot Klan, all with a celebrity DJ bringing on the music (HINT: he’s a well-known former Phoenix Sun and current NBA commentator).
Richard Sabellico, noted Broadway director and actor, is making a special trip from NYC for the launch. Sabellico most recently starred in the movie/mockumentary, ‘Pittsburg,’ with Jeff Goldblum and Ed Bagely Jr.
Jay Glazer, top sports “insider” voted Sport Illustrated’s 2007 Media Person of the Year, will also join the mix, as well as Scottsdale Mayor, Mary Manross.

The Special Olympics of Arizona will begin a test-pilot with Abby Bella, encouraging Special Olympians to engage in dance and is recommending the studio, with its programs and modifications for special-needs dancers. “We believe by taking part in dance, Special Olympians will have yet another great way to enhance their lives,” states Tom Fraker, Executive Director of the Special Olympics of Arizona.
Norma Escandon Michaels of NM Interiors Group, LLC, designed the modern-elegant studio with furniture from Ozzie’s, St. Vincent de Paul’s home furnishings boutique which benefits Arizona’s homeless and working poor.
